TEXAS REPUBLICAN SENATORS DEFY CONSTITUENTS LOUD CRIES FOR ACTION TO STOP THE OUT-OF-CONTROL FEDERAL GOVERNMENT Senators in State Affairs Skirt Vote to Avoid Accountability on HJR 77 With A Few Hours Left To Vote, Republican Senators Give Thumbs Down to Supporting Constitutional Efforts to Bring Power Back to the States AUSTIN, Texas, May 26 In a massive grassroots initiative during the 84th legislative session in Texas, constituents propelled an Article V resolution, HJR 77, to victory in the House 80-62 on May 14. It was then sent directly to the Senate State Affairs Committee. This week, cowardice and defiance were on full display by Republican Senators Craig Estes (SD-30), Troy Fraser (SD-24) and Jane Nelson (SD-12), who either skipped the Memorial Day hearing for HJR 77 altogether or ran and hid from constituents who were trying to educate them on the bill and answer questions. The committee Chair on multiple occasions in the last 48 hours attempted to convene the committee during Senate recesses, but Senators Estes, Fraser and Nelson were witnessed by constituents quickly exiting the Senate Floor, thus preventing a quorum and vote on HJR 77. What I have witnessed in Texas over the past few days has been both inspiring and disgusting, says Mark Meckler, Convention of States Co-founder and President of Citizens for Self-Governance. In multiple districts, Senators were overwhelmed by the calls and emails in support of the Convention of States resolution, HJR 77. We tracked every petition and our volunteers visited every office dozens of time, truly a grassroots fire in Texas.
Can you break this post up into “readable” portions?
Stop begging corrupt federal and state legislatures for democracy! An ineligible President voids the US Constitution. A national convention to formulate a new charter for the governing of our country must be held.
The US Constitution replaced the Article of Confederation. Now, the US Constitution must be replaced.
Sorry, I was in a hurry, as today is critical for the Senate Vote.........As typed it had paragraphs, but needed HTML....
How embarrassing if TEXAS was left out of the COS WAVE of STATES whose legislatures are passing COS participation Bills.

He doesn’t even provide a link to the source article so
don’t expect too much.
Citizens do not BEG, we command attention of our elected officials.
>>Citizens do not BEG, we command attention of our elected officials.<<
Yea...in la la land. Americans are standing all but idly by while our republic is being destroyed.
The founding fathers would have formulated militia by the thousands in defense of this nation.
Folks don’t have to resort to violence, just display the ability to gather by the thousands....armed. Send a message. We’ve had enough.
Republicans + no action + endangering their empires + screwing the voters who supported them + lining their own pockets through legislation + absolute allegiance to the RINO and establishment members = The Republican Party! Who knew??????
As long as we have establishment career members of the house and senate on state and national level we will NEVER have a convention of states.
They like the graft and corruption and self-enrichment office brings and a convention of states threatens their very existence.
A total voter revolution is the only thing that will throw them out of office so that we can restore the original freedoms and liberties granted by our ORIGINAL Constitution.
The US Constitution evolved from competing plans for a national government from various organizations and loose confederations of larges states v. small states. Eventually, compromise resulted in a proposed national charter for governance. The process of state ratification began.
The Articles of Confederation required all thirteen states to ratify an amendment. Article VII of the proposed US Constitution only required nine states for ratification. Two states ratified the US Constitution after President Washington was sworn in.
There is nothing to prevent the people from getting the democracy they demand.
These are the kinds of legislators the proponents of the Article V expect to approve the results of the Article V Convention.
When both national parties notify the state leaderships that their funding will be cut if they approve the results of the Article V, the state leaders will vote it down. Especially any state pols who have designs on higher office will toe the line dictated by the state and national party leadership.
“Now, the US Constitution must be replaced.”
WRONG!
Our CONSTITUTION must be RESTORED as our bedrock for governance! There is nothing wrong with our Constitution. There IS plenty wrong with the FEDERAL Leviathan that is IGNORING it.
Our DEMANDS are being IGNORED.
Perhaps it is time to remove those who are ignoring us.
By force, it required.
That's ^^ the problem, right there.
Only some in congress do not want to deal with it, there is plenty of support from many.
Who wants to spend more money than we take in ????
Who wants trillion dollar debt for their kids to pay off ?
Just the Threat of a COS convention in session should move DC to notice the people’s state represetatives really do have power to influence what is done in DC.
There’s your problem. The party goes to the State Reps and says - shut it down or you loose our support. That is all it takes. DC doesn’t give a small rat’s ass what the legislatures do in this matter. In the unlikely event it makes it to the needed majority, Congress will not certify it and will not abide by it if it is held without their approval. As to those who claim to support it, see who stands by their word when it is nut cutting time.
Being respectful here and impressed with your grasp on history. I have to submit there is indeed something preventing our demands.
It is called corruption at the highest levels of government. Thirst for power, greed. Politicians/corporate interest/foreign entities run the show...not the people.
We've lost our republic. Really hate to sound so cynical, but I look around the landscape and see no way to turn our country back to the people through the ballot box.
Even the electoral process has been perverted. Sure, we realize a bone or two now and again. The issue is this country has moved so far to the left that when one speaks of the constitution, freedom, bill of rights...they are perceived as radicals, troublemakers.
A nation that would re-elect...not elect, because mistakes happen, but re-elect a naked communist a second term, the electoral process and demographics appear quite bleak.
Would you not agree?
An ineligible President voids the US Constitution. The three branches of the federal government are voided. The people chose an ineligible President as their leader and the Courts and Congress are powerless to thwart the will of the people.
The next step is for the people to develop a national governing document. The President, the President’s executive level officers, the Courts and the Congress will maintain the status quo for continuity until the people develop a national governing document for the state to vote on for ratification.
The President, the Courts and the Congress are waiting for the people to establish a national charter for governance after they voided the Constitution by installing an ineligible President as their leader. The “tough love” will continue until the people provide guidance to their servants. The servants aren’t going to write our national charter for governance because we broke it and its up to us to fix it.
This video from yesterdays State Affairs hearing best explains the fierce battle within conservative ranks on this issue. Many people ask me who could be against this, and why. This video helps answer the who (though the why may escape you).
Senator Craig Estes has proven to be the latest thorn in the COS progress.
Senator, Brian Birdwell, delivers the epic response:
