One year after authorities sent excavators to tear down the large Sanjiang Church in Wenzhou, China, officials have returned to remove crosses from the top of churches in Zhejiang province, even drafting regulations banning crosses from the cityscape.

Dozens of churches in Lishui city had their crosses removed in May, with one cross burning up as the cutting machinery malfunctioned, according to ChinaAid. The demolitions come after a months-long break in the Zhejiang campaign that saw more than 425 churches lose their crosses or have their entire buildings destroyed.

“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live..."

Jesus said this, see: John 11:25

Though the wickedness of this world tries to destroy the Church of Jesus Christ, it will fail.

For news on how Chinese Christians are GROWING even though facing persecution, see here. The American church may have to go through this, too. I pray not, but if so, let us worship our Creator in truth.

One difference between Christianity and man made religions is that Christianity doesn’t have sacred places/things. A cross on a church is just so much wood, stone or metal.

So is a church, for that matter.

The main difference, of course, is Grace.

You can destroy the cross but you can never destroy what happened on the cross!

The official fear of these crosses amounts to “superstition” which is one term Marxism uses to describe Christianity.

So no Christian considers the Eucharist or the Bible sacred?

Jainism is not a man-made religion, then? Or Buddhism?

Is Judaism a man-made religion because of its reverence for the Temple?

You’re over thinking it. My own church——”The Six Shot Church of the Holy 44 Magnum” says it just ain’t right to screw with crosses or anything else in my neighborhood.-——Semper Fi

Christianity considers the WORDS in the bible sacred, but you can burn bibles all day. They are just physical things.

Regarding the Eucharist, you are getting to one of the places I was implying with this. But that is all I’ll say about the Eucharist.

Judaism was the pre-cursor to Christianity. It is incomplete.

If we were talking 3,000 years ago, my comment would not apply. But today it has “strayed” from the true path. The good news is that a remnant will return.
