Sen. Sessions: More Skepticism Of Trade Pacts Needed, Should Not Lose One Job To Trade Deal
Breitbart ^ | May 19th, 2015 | by Caroline May

There needs to be a real analysis about the results of global trade agreements, but for some the sanctity of trade relationships have become tantamount to a religion, Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL)says.

Speaking on the Senate floor Monday, the Alabama Republican highlighted the decline in American’s real hourly wages, median incomes, and shrinking middle class — arguing that while big government policies have had a big impact, so too have trade deals.

“It is time to begin a vigorous analysis of our conduct of trade,” Sessions said. “Do our policies and TPP concede too much to our mercantilist competitor allies?”

According to the Alabama lawmaker, there has not been enough consideration of the impact of trade agreements on the American worker and American incomes — so long as consumer prices decline with the deals.

The first crack in the wall.

Those who advocate for "free trade" are naive.

There is NO SUCH THING as Free Trade.

Free trade means that goods and services are produced where it is most economical to do so. Government interventions rules and regulations make this essential feature of productive capitalism less efficient and result in the squandering of capital For instance The Saudis for a time were intent on “making their own bread”. They invested huge amounts of capital into farming schemes. Their cost of producing a bushel of wheat was ~5x the market price. Waste of capital and a good way to ultimately go broke..

OK the Saudis NEVER had a functioning bakery infra structure.

What we are saying is perfectly good PROFITABLE factories(mostly non union too) were shipped over seas and the product re imported (without duty mind you) with the few percent savings going to stock holders. A totally different scenario.

These pacts always work to the benefit of the large multinational corporations and to the detriment of the American worker.

Do you consider yourself a citizen of the World?
Do you think generating revenue via income taxes is preferable to import tariffs and duties?

We force obsolesces on the most vulnerable in our society and income tax the rest to death while stock holders of multinational corps reap the benefits.

Washington is spinning like a lathe in in his grave.

“It is time to begin a vigorous analysis of our conduct of trade,” Sessions said.

Since we’re discussing the impact of the trade deal on the economy, it should be suggested that it’s long past time to conduct an analysis of illegal immigration.

No one seems to want to do anything about that.

This Obama “trade” bill is the worst bill EVER. Just read some of the links I post here below if you don’t believe it.

This TTP/TPA Obama trade deal is a trojan horse. It’s disguised as “free trade” What It really allows is for Obama to flood the USA with an unlimited number of 3rd world immigrants ...
http://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/immigration/item/20710-obama-gop-trade-scheme-includes-unrestricted-immigration

It’s Obamatrade but also Obama Amnesty for the entire 3rd world.

http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2015/04/dick_morris_fast_track_could_lead_to_unlimited_immigration.html

This Fast track gives Obama power to make treaties that override U.S. laws. Soros wrote a book on how to do this. So these “conservative” Senators are voting to give Obama power to rewrite all U.S. laws because treaties override U.S. laws. It’s the destruction of the republic. Proof here :

tweet or call congress and tell them to vote no to give Obama fast track power to make treaties

The mercantilists of Asia do not believe in free trade. They never have.

And, we also must ask the question: Even if they did, do we want to compete directly with people who have no environmental laws, social welfare programs or international burdens...and who are willing to work for $2.50 and hour?

Would that not eventually transfer all American capital to them and leave the US worker at $2.50/hr?

Or, are you assuming we'll hold our standard of living via agriculture and financial services?

Off shoring forces us to pay twice for everything, once to WalMart and then again to Uncle Sugar to payoff and placate the idled masses.

"Off shoring forces us to pay twice for everything"

Only until the entire capital stock is depleted.

And right now the world is circling the dying corpse that once was a great nation.

Her wealth transferred to others under the guise of "free trade".

One cannot have "free trade" with those who aim to win, at all costs.

It's time to talk about "FAIR TRADE".

Barak Obama is THE enemy of America and the enemy of freedom.

In productive capitalism, innovation ,entrepreneurs, capital and underutilized labor come together freely and produce real wealth. That is what led to America’s power and greatness. It is the creation of real wealth that correlates best with social justice. Redistribution schemes, excessive government interventions in the form of taxes and restrictive regulations, pseudo conservatism that seeks tp “protect” the economic status quo, end up squandering capital, inhibit wealth creation and make the situation worse.
