Gloria Steinem is among 30 women activists marching from Beijing through the demilitarized zone dividing North and South Korea in a call for peace next Sunday. The event marks the International Women’s Day for Peace and Disarmament.
The 81-year-old activist told Reuters that “it seems to me that the past of no contact has not worked,” invoking former President Ronald Reagan’s call to tear down the Berlin Wall.
“We are saying: ‘Take down this isolation,’” she said, according to the report, which also notes that the organizers will meet with North Korean women and tour a maternity hospital, a women’s factory in Pyongyang and a preschool.
Both countries have approved the rare crossing of the DMZ, a rare event that has generated criticism among those who say the event could be used as propaganda by the North.

Gloria will get treated like royalty. She’ll get her 30 pieces of gold and report back how North Korea is doing a stellar job working to alleviate the suffering of women but the US is working so hard against them.

Maybe not. Gloria will be well-treated provided she does as she is told. She must pay homage to the great patriarchs of North Korea, Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. She must also stay on script. They do not tolerate unscripted public speaking.
I'm sure that NK is happy to go along with this, as they know Hillary will be bad for the USA.

What a bunch of propaganda. Gloria Steinem doesn’t want the North to become a free republic but the rest of the world to be more like North Korea. Juche for all!!! She will be lamenting how bad things are for women on US college campuses and how Hobby Lobby is forcing women to remain barefoot and pregnant while proclaiming how wonderful women are treated in NK and get free birth control.
If it is a real protest against the government, PLEASE take Moochelle. She’s due for another tax payer funded vacation. Lena Dunham and Sandra Fluck should tag along as well.
