“Did you support opposing the Brooks amendment?
Do you condone the 20 votes of Pelosis and Gallegos fellow travelers?”
Yes, I support the Brook amendment. Whether I condone their vote or not is not important, as it did not affect the outcome of the vote.
I do not believe in cutting off our noses for spite. These reps are probably in areas that are more liberal than our safe districts and need to be aware of the nuances of their districts. Although not elected by all of the voters of the district, they are sent to Washington to represent all of the people of their district and not you.
Is that what you're saying, that these reps will sell out their country to placate their constituent's warped loyalties just to get their sorry asses re-elected?
Do I really need to point out that these reps took an oath to support and defend the constitution? Nowhere in that oath are they bound to grovel at the feet of those they represent.
The oath used today has not changed since 1966 and is prescribed in Title 5, Section 3331 of the United States Code. It reads: I, ---, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.
