My dad’s best friend and fellow officer, killed working undercover and nearly had his throat cut by banditos, only to be shot friendly fire while arresting them.
1974. My dad was never the same.

Every law enforcement officer in the state is descending on Waco!
PING!
I wouldn't be surprised if at least half the MC fatalities were from LEO's positioned outside, as they engaged or returned fire. Not a good day (guessing) to bring a pistol to an automatic rifle fight.
Get some.
Why would any parent take young children to Twin Peaks? Oh. I know. The wings are good.
A biker brawl in Waco, Texas, Sunday that left nine bikers dead and 18 injured Sunday is drawing the astonishing response from liberal media voices that the bikers are being treated differently from inner-city rioters because theyre white.
Barely had the news gone national before race-obsessed New York Times columnist posted a Twitter question wondering whether the National Guard would be activated like a gang fight is somehow the same as a mass disturbance aimed at mass destruction.
Waco cops, though, seem to know exactly what happened even if it was extreme.
There were at least three rival gang groups here this morning for whatever reason. As they were here, we had officers on scene. We expected issues, police spokesman Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said, according to CNN.
In my nearly 35 years of law enforcement experience, he said, this is the most violent and gruesome scene that I have dealt with.
The shootings escalated from a fist fight at the Twin Peaks restaurant and overflowed into the parking lot. Biker thugs shot at each other, and at police, who returned fire.
Some restaurant customers and employees took refuge in the freezer, CNN reported.
The carnage was evident, with eight gang members dead on scene, and one pronounced dead at the hospital. No officers were injured, Swanton said.
Nearly 100 weapons were recovered from the scene, according to a local CNN affiliate television station.
The Waco police response and press coverage stands in stark contrast to the recent riots in Baltimore.
As police prepare for possible further violence among the bikers, nobody is calling for the National Guard, and nobody expects looting and burning in Waco. And perhaps most importantly, nobodys hearing the mayor tell the police to stand down. (NOT HARDLY)!
Will curfew be enforced upon Waco, Texas? Will the National Guards be sent in. Will the streets of Waco see paramilitary vehicles? (NOT HARDLY)!
Anyone happen to notice that when there are gang shoot outs in other states there are usually one or two dead and several wounded? In Texas even our gang member know how to shoot. Of course I’m sure the police shot a few too.
I’m glad these bikers were given the same “room to destroy” and had the same restraint allowed them as all those black looters that have been in the news lately. Oh.....wait!
Seattle Cossacks have been around since 1938, er, no, the gangs likely have nothing to do with each other.

These Cossacks from Texas have been around since 1969.
A few years ago, a Bandido stabbed a Cossack.
Thursday is Biker night.
Sounds like from the article, they knew there could be trouble.
“A May 2014 story in the Odessa American shows members of the Cossacks and Scimitars volunteering to build a playground.”
Looks like the Cossacks and Scimitars are actually a pretty obscure group though the articles seems to infer they are a criminal element nonetheless. Maybe these Bandidos are a bunch of bullies.
We’ll find out when we see who the 192 arrested are.
This is one of the very few instances when I would approve of civil asset procedures.
Confiscate all the bikes and sell them at auction to overseas buyers. Don’t think it would be wise for a US citizen to purchase a bike that could be traced to them.
Most past biker violence in Central Florida has involved gang rivalries and rare crimes against victims outside the biker life. The worst example involved Joseph "Crazy Joe" Spaziano of Orlando, who terrorized Central Florida decades ago. A member of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club, Spaziano was suspected of killing at least eight people. Now 67, he remains imprisoned for life for raping and mutilating a woman and for the 1973 murder of Laura Lyn Herberts, an 18-year-old hospital clerk. Her body was found next to the unidentified remains of another teenage girl in an Altamonte Springs dump.Just because I didn't have time to respond yesterday. There's plenty of sordid, despicable stories for the morbidly curious or not-so-obstinately denying.
