There was a time when men were men and Special Ops people all got to experience waterboarding first hand as part of their training.
Now they want men to be metrosexual wimps.

“I really do respect her passion for national security and her passion for intelligence”...

Seems her passion for “intelligence” missed her on a personal level. Eliminating one of the best techniques known for getting to the truth has put the U.S. well behind in todays world.

"There was a time when men were men and Special Ops people all got to experience waterboarding first hand as part of their training."

Who told you that lie?

What the US Army and Air Force employed in the olden days (pre 1990) can hardly be considered Waterboarding.

That said, Navy SERE in Warner Springs continued it's use through 2008. Real, no-sh!t Khmere Rouge style.

Now, for every Special Operator that has been on the Waterboard there are another 30-40 that have not.

Even at Warner Springs in 1978 my class had 44 men and only 3 of us were put on the board.

And this was at the height of the CIA development program.

Noww, to men being men: Of the 1000 or so Americans that have been on the Waterboard, and not damage in some catastrophic way as a result of performing their business duties, several dozen, if not over 1000 carry permanent damage and VA disability.

In fact, if a service ember can substantiate they were on the Waterboard, a PTSD disability is automatic.
