No kidding. He even messes up trying to clarify his original mess up. Here’s what he should have said:

I love my brother and I know him. I know that, despite the hateful motivations the Left falsely attributes to him, he only acted out of his genuine love for this country and her safety, and based on the best intelligence available at the time. So while I would have done things differently, I still feel compelled to defend my brother from a personal honor and integrity perspective.”
so much he could have said about all of the variables that needed to be considered at the time and the impact of changing one of those variables and how that would have affected the calculation. He could have said more about the impact on the Arab Spring and how Hillary as SoS squandered that etc....
