SCP:
This article should give you some more context and information about the true role of Heidi Cruz when she worked with the CFR. Ha ha ha. Is that what you call it. "Context and information". I call it invective and spin. As regards my posting, once again:
- My posting consists of the exerpted text of the report.
- The only source for it is the report itself on the CFR web site.
- The full report is linked, which will give people the full context.
- Despite the claims of your rebuttal, Heidi Cruz is listed as both a member of the task force, and an endorser of the report. Not everyone on the task force endorsed it. I would think if Ms. Cruz had objections to the majority of it, as your rebuttal claims she would not have endorsed it.
- Dragging the John Birch Society into this discussion is way off target, THAT is the real smear. Very SPLC like. Link any negative comments about your favored candidate to a widely disliked group.
- I am not part of "whisper campaign". I posted the link to Heidi's article and a few of the key conclusions.
- I have nothing to do with "Dewhurst or Addison".
- The article you have linked is pure spin and invective. It is also extremely misleading. It only partially quotes Ms. Cruz. Here is the full Ms. Cruz quote, with the ommitted parts highlighted:
I support the Task Force report and its recommendations aimed at building a safer and more prosperous North America. Economic prosperity and a world safe from terrorism and other security threats are no doubt inextricably linked. While governments play an invaluable role in both regards, we must emphasize the imperative that economic investment be led and perpetuated by the private sector. There is no force proven like the market for aligning incentives, sourcing capital, and producing results like financial markets and profit-making businesses. This is simply necessary to sustain a higher living standard for the poorest among ustruly the measure of our success. As such, investment fundsand financingmechanisms shouldbe deemedattractive instruments by those committing the capital and should only be developed in conjunction with market participants. Heidi S. Cruz
- I'm a Freeper, I'm not being paid by anyone. I've been posting here since 1998, over 15,000 comments, only a few dozen on Ted Cruz.
- In contrast the author of the misleading, invective filled piece is by a paid Ted Cruz staffer. Here is a link to his bio. Which includes this statement:
He has worked as Texas State Director for the Gary Johnson Presidential campaign, as an adviser to the Ted Cruz senatorial campaign and as Communications Director for the Travis County Republican Party.

You emphasized the wrong sentence. Here is the take away from the sole contribution by Heidi Cruz to that document:
.... Economic prosperity and a world safe from terrorism and other security threats are no doubt inextricably linked. While governments play an invaluable role in both regards, we must emphasize the imperative that economic investment be led and perpetuated by the private sector. ...

Cruz is Elizabeth Warrens dream opponent.Probably true, because Warren's one note pitch is against big bankers, and Heidi has worked for both Merrill Lynch and Goldman-Sachs (which she is currently on leave from to support Ted's campaign).
But, I don't think that Warren is going to run.
Hillary may well choose not to throw that stone, she's living in a glass house. Her son-in-law is a hedge-fund trader / millionaire and the son of a convicted Wall Street tycoon and former Congressman. Pretty amazing, when you stop and think about it.

If you weren’t so wrong, you would not be so defensive.

Why?
It was an apt description of the tactics and behavior of Dewhurst and his team.

Wrong about what?
Wrong to provide a link to the CFR Report that Heidi Cruz worked on and endorsed?
This is the wrong thing to post on FR because we have already decided, as a group, that Ted Cruz is our candidate and we don't wish to entertain any information which contradicts our preconceptions about him?
Is that why?
I don't feel there is anything wrong with providing this information, which I did in the most neutral way possible (neutral / factual title, no editorializing).
It's a sad day when Freepers are supporting the idea that factual background on Conservative candidates is a bad thing to share. The idea of "hate facts", that is ideas or knowledge which while true are too scary to share, used to be confined to the left.

Good grief. You are nuts. I present primary source documents, just facts.
You respond with invective and insults.
It is you are rude and inarticulate.
Maybe work on that, next time try addressing the topic of the discussion. If you don't have anything intelligent to say on the topic, well as the old adage goes: "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

Apologies this in not exactly a CW2 themed post, but I feel it's important information that many here on FR will be interested in. No 'pologies necessary from my point of view. It may not directly be a CWII analysis, but it surely counts as backgrounder info.

Yes, I do tend to get defensive when I’m called names, accused of lying, and have my integrity challenged. I’m not a little man-boy who takes things like that without defending myself. Get used to it.

Thank you for the link to your article.
The John Birch Society opposes Cruz for one and only one reason: he is pro-Israel. The Birchites consider Israel to be the "Vatican" of the "new world order" and hate it with a passion. Never mind that they supported Rhodesia and South Africa which were in the exact same position. Rhodesia and South Africa were good white chrstian nations but Israel is The Land of Mordor Where the Shadows Lie.
Shame on all Jew-haters . . . without distinction!

This has nothing to do with the the John Birch Society, that's a smear and name calling to deflect the actual facts.Yes it does. You are spreading a smear about a solid conservative because he is pro-Israel and therefore sinister. And to think I actually had second thoughts about my characterization of you after that last racialist/pagan article you posted.
So who do you want . . . Buchanan or Ron Paul? Or perhaps Willis Carto???
