Flashback 1996: Why ABC shouldn't hire Stephanopoulos

....Stephanopoulos was one of the most partisan of partisan warriors ever — just look at "The War Room," the documentary from the 1992 Clinton presidential campaign. So it was something of a surprise in 1996 when ABC News hired Stephanopoulos, fresh out of the Clinton White House. And there was some confusion about what the deeply partisan Stephanopoulos' role would be: Analyst? Pundit? Straight news reporter? At the time, I asked ABC about it and was assured Stephanopoulos would be a pundit — like William Kristol, who was then with ABC News — and would not do any news reporting. Here is the opening of a piece I wrote in December 1996 for the Wall Street Journal editorial page....

If Romney had any gonads when this POS side slapped him with that question about birth control, he would have gotten up and punched him right in the mouth. Until some of these guys begin to show exactly what contempt these “unbiased reporters” have for their party and anyone who tries to unburden the producers from the takers here, we are just going to get more of the same. I never understood why they even bother being interviewed in the first place as it is a kangaroo court.

After any of these “interviews” the only thing missing is they never get kissed in the morning.

And didn’t Stephanopoulos graduate from Columbia one year ahead of Obama and from the same school. With their socialist beliefs certainly they knew each other - birds of a feather! Notice Obama always arranged for Stephanopous to conduct his important interviews. There is more here than meets the eye.

I avoid all shows that feature any of the liberal propagandists, but I caught a glimpse of Stephy a few weeks ago while channel surfing. My first thought was — as he’s getting older, he’s morphing into Michael Dukakis! Then I changed the channel.

When he was hired, I approached my Lefty (former) friend and here’s how our conversation went:
‘I can’t believe they hired him....who would ever think he could be unbiased’
‘of course he will be unbiased....why would you ever think he wouldn’t be?’
‘Because he was an obvious Clinton insider’.
‘So?’
‘OK, would you buy any stories from someone who had been high up in the Reagan Admin?’
‘Of course not’
The hypocrisy of Leftists is astounding.
