This was an email from the SCF sent out yesterday about the corruption that is the Republican Party. These guys are rotten to the core. Kudos to Vitter for pushing this issue. Of course, he'll need a food taster if he eats in the Senate Dining Room.

Senator Richard Burr (R-NC) called Vitter's effort "disingenuous" and Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) said that there are "more appropriate" uses of the committee.

Notice they don't deny Vitter's assertions.

Corrupt and rotten they are. A lot of bad apples in the party that’s for sure.

‘The GOP establishment thinks that if they humiliate their colleagues, they can get them to back down’

GOP establishment is using Alinsky tactics to bully their Conservative colleagues. The Senators do not need subsidies from the American taxpayers. Like Bill Clinton, they are doing this simply ‘because they can’. Republicans acting like Democrats. Disgusting.

"Everyone knows that Congress has exempted itself from Obamacare..."

Did they exempt themselves or did they just get lavish taxpayer funded subsidies which cover the cost of the most extravagant "platinum" insurance plans under Obamacare? I thought it was the latter. This is why the pols always say people are lying when they claim they are exempted from Obamacare. They participate in obamacare they just don't have to pay for it.

Don’t these very stupid people that aren’t in the political game realize that GOVERNMENT deserve a better “LEG UP” than the rest of us? What’s the matter with all you people? THE GOVERNMENT IS THE NEW “UPPER CRUST” AND DON’T ANY OF YOU FORGET THAT.

"But until Vitter got a green light from the Small Business Committee to subpoena the unredacted application from the District of Columbia health exchange, it would be impossible to determine who in Congress gave it a stamp of approval. When Vitter asked Republicans on his committee to approve the subpoena, however, he was unexpectedly stonewalled.

That stonewalling centered around Rand Paul. Vitter needed ten votes from his Republicans on the committee but Rand Paul was against it. So when Vitter declared a public vote on the matter, McConnell got involved and got four other senators to completely switch their positions and vote ‘no’ against the subpoena, to take the heat off of Rand Paul being the sole ‘no’ vote."

To secure its Obamacare exemption, the U.S. Senate had to submit documents stating that it was a small business with less than 50 employees.

So, if their staffs qualify as a small business, I take it then they are filing the quarterly tax returns that small businesses are required to file and are also adhering to all the other regulations imposed on small businesses. I doubt it.
