Rand Paul: Jeb Bush "fumbled" Iraq question
CBS News ^ | 5/14/15 | By/Rebecca Kaplan/

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul said that his fellow Republican, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, gave an "incredibly fumbled answer" when he was asked earlier this week if he would have authorized the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

-snip-

Paul also blasted fellow Republican senator and presidential candidate Marco Rubio for his support for foreign aid, something which Paul wants to minimize and in some cases eliminate entirely.

"If any Republican nominee wants to run on the idea that borrowing money and printing it up and sending it to foreign countries that often hate us and burn our flag and think it's a good idea, feel free to run on that issue," Paul he said. "But it's not really popular with the people."

He said Rubio is on the "wrong side of history" by supporting aid to other countries.

The next excuse would be, that Megyn Kelly somehow am”Bush”ed Jeb, and he was blindsided by the question.

What part of “knowing what we now know” did Jeb miss in the translation into Spanish?

Now we can have the comment on the comment on the comment on the comment on the comment. And I couldn’t care less about the commentor, the commentator, the sub-commentator, or the third commentator twice removed. Where’s my Kardashian?

Rand Paul is blowing up his likability factor. He trails badly compared to his introductory position early on, when riding in on his dad’s political machine, showing hope and generational promise, but these accumulative and increasingly sour attitudinal remarks have probably secured his position out of the top tier.

A smile doesn’t come easy to him anyway, and a belly laugh is surely out of the question, but that’s okay. Some have a dry sense of humor. But, added to his generally prickly facial expressions and pursed lips, his snarky remarks at every candidate every time they get a hang nail is painting a picture of Paul as moody and perpetually out of sorts.

Bush goofed. Tomorrow it will someone else.

I don’t think Paul has ever been very likeable. And it’s clear he’s really no one without his father’s disciples.

He responded very accurately - he said he would do the same, “knowing what we knew at the time”, but in hindsight, knowing what we know now, both he and Dubya would have done things differently.

I don’t really know how much clearer he could have been. I understood it perfectly well when I watched the interview. You don’t have to like somebody (and I don’t like Jeb for president) to accurately depict their interview responses.

I agreed with Rand. We’re trillions in debt and sending tens of billions in foreign welfare to every hate-America hellhole imaginable.

Shut it all down.
