... The Facebook page of the engineer of the derailed Amtrak train was changed within hours of the crash to substitute his profile picture with a black rectangle.
Friends of Brandon Bostian seemed to know about his role in it before his name publicly surfaced and rallied to his side.
One Facebook friend whose profile identifies him as an Amtrak engineer in California posted "it could have been any one of us and you are not alone."

Anyone of them could have been doing 100+ on a section of track rated for “somewhat less” than that.
Riiight.
What was he doing in the cab that kept him from noticing what was going on?

Was a gay activist given preferential hiring and then “helped” though engineering training?
Was the crash on purpose? Was someone trying to make a “statement” like the German pilot who deliberately crashed his airplane into the Alps?
The train was going 106 mph on a section of track rated for 50 mph. This does not happen By ACCIDENT. There are a plethora of Amtrak safety equipment to avoid this that had to be deliberately ignored or bypassed.
Tell you what.
It should be required for all engineers to have a profile posted on the Amtrak site.

Freepers beat the paper....by well over 24 hours on the facebook information...i.e....the Blank Black Profile Photo etc.
Oddly it appears as though that facebook page has disappeared ...today..

I have a different take on this...
I believe we are going to start hearing of a trend in the corporate side of this accident that the desk jockeys are pushing the “do’ers” (drivers and their chains of command) to get people moved faster, and that safety has been compromised to a certain point, and incidents like this occur...
We seen this before...
And since the knee-jerk reaction is for government to step in it again and try to fix this by dumping a lot of tax dollar on it to make it go away, is yet another systemic problem with government types, and an industry so dependent on government for its tenuous existence...

Wonder if he is going to get the same condemnation that the captain of the Costa Concordia received.
