Small point, but re; comment that ‘The Bible was written in a European language”. There is no such thing as “a European Language, per se. Judging from the names of his friends, and that he was of the Lutheran Church, liked a team from Minnesota, a little asking would probably show that as being Norweigien, or some Germanic language. That’s like Obama saying someone ‘spoke Austrian’.

Actually, any number of languages could be described as being “a European language” when the specific one isn’t known.
