Conservative group targets Jeb Bush as ‘unelectable’ in ad
The Hill ^ | 5/13/15 | Jonathan Easley

The conservative group ForAmerica will launch a five-figure web campaign Wednesday in early-voting states featuring an ad that ties Jeb Bush (R) to Hillary Clinton (D), and that blasts the former Florida governor as “unelectable.”

“Almost all Republicans understand Hillary Clinton would make a terrible presidential,” text from the ad reads.

The ad cuts to a handful of GOP presidential contenders, including Sens. Marco Rubio (Fla.), Ted Cruz (Texas), and Rand Paul (Ky.), Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and businesswoman Carly Fiorina criticizing the former Secretary of State for a variety of reasons.

“All except one,” text from the ad continues.

The ad then cuts to Bush speaking at a National Constitution Center event in September 2013, where he presented Clinton with the group’s Liberty Medal award for her career in public service and as an advocate for women’s rights around the world.

“I want to say thank you to both Secretary Clinton and to President Clinton, thank you for your service to our country,” Bush says in the ad.

I have an agenda. I know who I will vote for.

I won't vote for a Bush. So, me and a bunch like me will work on making sure that Cruz is the last one standing.

I love it! Yes, let’s use their own tactics against them (besides, it’s true).

Jeb Bush would be an absolute disaster as president. Hillary Clinton would be even worse. Heaven help us if those are the only two choices come next November.

No matter how much conservatives don’t want Jeb, we should not underestimate the Bush family. Jebster has a very good chance of winning the nomination with liberal, blue state Republican votes.

Romney wasn’t exactly a conservative icon (boy is THAT an understatement), but he won the nomination. It could happen again if conservatives sit out the primaries. We need every vote we can get!

I don’t think Jeb can do anywhere near as well in primaries as Romney did. I think the GOPe has schemed a brokered convention to hand him the nomination. It’s why the field is overrun with candidates. Divide and conquer.

“All Hail The Dauphin, Jeb The Inevitable!”

That’s all we’re hearing from the Liberals...

He, and all other rinos, ARE “unelectable”, because the base has shown that it won’t turn out for a RINO.

See 2012 for proof.

Didn't CNN and the drive by propaganda agency (media) choose Bush to run as they thought Hellery could beat him?

The minute he praised Clinton, he went full John McCain.

And you never go full John McCain.

I think it would be a mistake to underestimate Jeb’s influence in blue states. The same Republicans that gave us Romney could wind up giving us Jeb. We conservatives must learn to better engage during the primaries so we aren’t faced with lesser of two evil dilemmas in general elections.

The only thing I respect about Jeb at this point is his honesty. He’s waving that RINO flag with pride. Heaven help us!

Yet John McCain is still a senator. No matter what he does, he knows how to hang onto that office. Even worse, he can always point to that and claim he has a mandate from the voting majority. Sadly, it’s true. He’s not going to retire or give up. We have to forcibly retire him by defeating him in the primaries.

The same thing can be said for Jeb Bush. Don’t underestimate him. The Bushes have a pretty good track record.

Conservative group targets Jeb Bush as ‘unelectable’ in ad

One would think that anyone who hasn't been asleep for the last decade would realize he's unelectable.

I will say again, if Jeb is the nominee, i'm voting Democrat. I would rather see it go down in flames than have to put up with another milquetoast fool who does the Democrat's work for them.

Not me.

We must each do what we think is right. As for me, if they nominate Jeb, I want them to go down in flames.

This needs to go a step further. That is, not just unelectable, but “what candidate should be Bush’s replacement?” Nothing quite unbalances a campaign as much as their being a mentioned “plan B”.

They tried that a while back with Mitt Romney, as a backup to Bush, but it was made clear that he was just as untenable. So they need to be thinking in terms of somebody else, “as Bush is just not working.”
