Two men have been arrested in connection with the murder of Earl Olander.

The 90-year-old was found dead, bound and beaten inside his home on April 11.

Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson said Tuesday that deputies received a tip that property stolen from Olander's residence had been recovered. Recovery of the stolen property led to the arrest of two adult males

I’m not so sure - rural Minnesota. More likely some white trash druggies. Now if it was up north I would be inclined to say Indians.

Great news.

Been waiting on this one a long time. I was afraid they’d never arrest anybody.

Seems like there is a fair amount of mystery in this case. No signs of forced entry and other items suggest victim may have known perp(s):

Who Killed Earl Olander?
Deputies, BCA Still Looking for Answers

http://belleplaineherald.com/Content/News/News/Article/Who-Killed-Earl-Olander-/7/48/6183

Wednesday, April 22, 2015 10:59 AM

Earl Olander’s funeral was Monday at East Union Lutheran Church. While his family and many friends bid the 90-year-old longtime farmer farewell, Carver County Sheriff’s deputies continue to look for answers to the all-important question.
Who killed Olander, a man widely described as kind, caring and compassionate.
Last week, Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson described Olander’s murder as a heinous crime. He said deputies and investigators from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) believe more than one person participated in the crime.
They left Olander’s house ransacked. Saturday evening (April 11), a neighbor checking on him on behalf of a family member out-of-state found him dead in the living room, his hands bound. He had been assaulted.
Olander was last seen alive two days earlier. Tests by the medical examiner will hopefully close the window on when he might have been killed, said Jason Kamerud, Carver County Sheriff chief deputy.
Kamerud said DNA testing on evidence found at the house is ongoing. Deputies are also looking at cell phone use in the area at the time and other evidence that might help them identify possible assailants.
Deputies won’t say what, if anything, had been taken from the house. Never married, Olander lived alone at 16885 Homestead Road in San Francisco Township. His house is about two miles southwest of East Union and five miles northeast of Belle Plaine.

Olander lived alone. There was no sign of forced entry at the house. Investigators are not certain if Olander opened the door for the attackers or if they entered the house while he was in the yard and lay in wait for him to reenter the house.

Kamerud said deputies are looking at “several leads to follow up on.” He said they are evaluating possible clues and scenarios, reviewing them in depth until they can be eliminated as viable possibilities. “It takes time,” he said.
He said the rural nature of the area makes identifying suspects more chellenging.

Kamerud hopes to release additional information on the investigation later this week.

Last week, Carver County Sheriff’s Office announced Crime Stoppers of Minnesota offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and charging in this case. Kamerud said others have offered additional funds to enhance the reward. Contact www.crimestoppersmn.org or 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) to help solve this crime. Contact with Crime Stoppers is anonymous.

I agree. There’s no minorities in that city. I can’t believe imagine many leaving the security of their inner city to go out to a farm. Guess tomorrow the perps will be named and we’ll know.

Beg to differ. Prince was part of the Minneapolis music scene.
