ne of the complaints the rest of the world had against Germany and the German people was how they could possibly have allowed Adolf Hitler to gain power and stay in power to the ruination of Germany and the needless deaths of tens of millions of people. Germany had a substantial political party known as the Christian Democrats. These Christian Democrats were supposed to represent the more moral part of German Society. Hitler succeeded in capturing the support of the Christian Democrats by polarizing the German electorate into believing their were only two possible choices, either the NZIs or the Communists. The Christian Democrats were subjugated to the will of the NAZIs by their own fear of the Communists. There was no party in Germany known as the Christian Democrats when Hitler came to power. The Christian Democratic Union was established in 1945, after the demise of Nazi Germany.
