Liberal senators imperil Obama trade bill (Republicans rescuing Obama)
The Hill ^ | 5/11/15 | Alexander Bolton

The White House and Senate Republicans are scrambling to win enough support for a key procedural vote Tuesday to move forward with President Obama’s trade agenda.

The vote is shaping up to be one of the most dramatic roll calls of this Congress and could be a stinging rebuke of the president by members of his own party. It may also doom a sweeping Pacific trade agreement that is a top priority for the Obama administration.

Trade bills traditionally pass the Senate with ease and face stiffer winds in the House. But this time around, there are major hurdles in both chambers.

Damn we have some bought and paid for representatives in our government. Term limits and an easier way to get rid of them if they’re not representing the people as they promised too

And we get what in return? The usual “nothing,” I suppose.

It’s so great they will not let anyone see the TPP.

But they are sure in a rush to pass it.

The political elite care less about us than I care about a house fly. We’ve eroded our manufacturing base, and done all we can to help it relocate to China and India. All in the name of free trade. Now, Republicans are ready to step up for more. It’s about the only darn thing they’ll step up for, and it’s not helping.

McConnell and Boehner have become Obama’s go to men. The corruption of the GOP makes it obvious that playing the same game of voting for the pubbies and getting Rat agents must stop.

It has come to the point where it literally takes my breath when I read headlines about how the Republicans are enabling Obama.

When I am forced to side with Elizabeth Warren and against the GOP, we’ve truly gone thru the looking glass.

Why don’t the republicans remind Obama that he poisoned the well with his immigration executive order and that that choice has consequences - meaning no help on the trade deal?

One more reason why voting for the letter R is a mistake.

But, but we had to have a Republican Congress they will SAVE US from the evil Harry Reid and obama!!! There were a lot and I mean a lot of useful idiots on FR preaching this tripe daily leading up to November 2014. They will be back again shilling for their masters in 2016. They claim to be conservatives but are the epitome of a useful idiot and low information voter on the Republican side of the ballot.

I have started calling the TPP the Enabling Act of 2015. It’s like the Regime has watched Germany of the early 1930s and is simply repeating it.

The TPP will go around the US Constitution, trade law, and employment law. Nearly unlimited visas will be given, as people of the signatories will be able to move about freely to work. Should/when the PRC join, us work will vanish.

There is talk that the UN Small Arms treaty is subsumed in this.

The US Congress may as well go home, as this bill will make it irrelevant on its face and only worth keeping around as “The Old Ones” from the movie, “300.”

Does anyone remember Andrew Stern, formerly of ACORN and SEIU, talking about a worldwide minimum wage of $12/hour? I saw a clip of him suggesting this and of a worldwide ‘workers of the world unite’ effort he was behind.

If memory serves, he, Maurice Strong, and Buffett all live in Asia now.
