Comparisons drawn to Duke lacrosse, George Zimmerman cases
Marilyn Mosby, the Baltimore City State Attorney in charge of prosecuting six police officers for the death of Freddie Gray, Jr., is coming under increasing criticism from defense attorneys and legal scholars who think she is politicizing the case and using her prosecutorial power to create her own celebrity.
Ms. Mosby has raised eyebrows in several quarters with a media blitz that has spanned from a CNN interview that focused on her courtship with her city councilman husband to her decision to appear on stage with Prince during a rock concert for a song dedicated to Mr. Gray.
The legal experts say Ms. Mosby is in danger of running afoul of the Maryland Bar standards barring prejudicial conduct by prosecutors, or at the very least traveling down a well-worn path of failed celebrity prosecutions like those involving O.J. Simpson, George Zimmerman or the Duke lacrosse players.
“She’s a young prosecutor in the starlight with an agenda, which is not solely focused on prosecution,” said Mark O’ Mara, the Florida criminal defense attorney who successfully defended Mr. Zimmerman against charges he shot an unarmed black man in a trial that turned the tables on the prosecutors.
“If she wants to prosecute cops, that’s a gargantuan task in itself,” he added. “If she’s going to be the standard in which we prosecute police, then do it responsibly, don’t open yourself to undue criticism a lot of lawyers are probably asking, why are you on stage with Prince—why aren’t you working?”

I’ve seen it thrown out there by attorneys at Legal Insurrection that she has opened herself up to disciplinary action for charging false imprisonment if the knife in question is actually illegal under Baltimore statutes.
She cited Maryland law, when the Grays charging documents clearly cited the Baltimore statute.
Going on stage with the “artist formerly called prince” was a bad bad move.
She doesn’t know any better. She’s the perfect child of the great society/affirmative action/celebrity/media driven culture. She’s probably better qualified to sort mail. I hope she gets her cute little black ass handed to her in court. But she can always get a job at FedGov....

Somehow this pack of like types always avoid accountability, responsibility and consequences. How is that happens over and over. With the Clintons it’s over 25 years of get aways, and with the Obamas’, it will be more.
These people are too big to fail.
Marilyn Mosby is a heroin already. She will probably bump that sober faced mayor girl-person, in Baltimore, out of the way and Mosby will run for governor herself.
Sadly, she has the full faith and backing of the US federal government. She could fry puppies in the court room and the Obamatons will bail her ass out of the fire. She is a protected class AA citizen and immune from laws applying to the rest of us plebes.
There is a real sense of entitlement for blacks in patronage jobs; it is creating issues as Hispanics overwhelm their strongholds and run their own Dem candidates. They want the same political offices, free college seats and government housing, affirmative action jobs, and MONEY.
Angling for her own cable show? Move over Nancy Grace.
Of course, the difference is, she is a black woman, whereas Nifong is a white man.
In no time, she will be a Demoncrat rep in Congress. Then the White House. Gender and pigment.
