SPRING LAKE — Nature and mankind have never quite agreed on what to do about Wreck Pond, a 48-acre coastal lake near some of the Jersey shore's priciest oceanfront real estate.
Storms sometimes open a channel between the pond and the ocean, but governments keep sealing it shut to protect nearby homes from flooding. The result has been poor water quality, and a much narrower access to the ocean that hurts fish that travel between the ocean and pond to breed

Mother Nature is so incompetent. She really can’t do anything right. It’s good that the government is here to help out so much.
Maybe they could have a bucket brigade or sumthin’.
What’s the use in this? Christy will probably eat all the fish anyhow.

$4 million? Lets see... I think I could do it for only $1 million. I’d need 100 kids with pails and I’d tell them they are going to build a huge sand castle. I would pay the kids $1,000 each, so I’ll make $900,000 profit.
