Boston bomber told nun 'no one' should suffer as his victims did

Since testimony began in Boston federal court in early March, the jury has heard from about 150 witness, including parents who lost children in the attack, first responders who attended to victims who had lost limbs, and Tsarnaev's Russian relatives who remembered him as a loving young boy.

But the closest they came to hearing from Tsarnaev himself was Monday's testimony from the nun, Sister Helen Prejean, 76, who described meeting him five times over the past year at the request of defense lawyers. Prejean, whose story inspired the 1993 book and 1995 film "Dead Man Walking," said she believed Tsarnaev was remorseful.

"He said it emphatically. He said no one deserves to suffer like they did," said Prejean, the public face of the New Orleans-based Ministry Against the Death Penalty and a Nobel Peace Prize nominee. "I had every reason to think that he was taking it in and that he was genuinely sorry for what he did."

Yet he gave the bird to the camera in his holding cell. don’t believe his remorse. Thought he wanted his 72 virgins?

If he’s really sorry, he’ll want to suffer and die, like his victims did.

Sad really. This person a Christian meets with an Islamic adherent, and now explains to us what a changed man he is. God can forgive him if he is deserving. Until then justice should be carried out.

If he truly said it, that should actually INCREASE the punishment as he is expressing that he understands he did something horrible.

I'm sure he didn't volunteer that information but said it in response to a question the bleeding heart Sister put to him.

Headline should be: Pro-abortion nun speaks up for value of terrorist murderer’s life.

If ‘no one’ should suffer as his victims, then surely he should be put to death - wouldn’t want him to sense a writhing pain as some of the victims before they died. Execution, especially here in MA, will be painless and he won’t feel pain for long. Otherwise, he might eventually get cancer in jail and die a slow death.

Sister Helen doesn’t want anyone to be put to death for murder. I would venture a guess that Tsarnaev didn’t care then and doesn’t care now. This comment is in keeping with the agenda of Sister Helen. Yes, I am suggesting she is lying to save his life.......if so, I wonder how the Lord will look upon her statement?

Thought he wanted his 72 virgins?

He did. Then he found out it was really just a 72 year old virgin.
