Norway is one of the most politically correct countries on earth, so this, via Eugene Volokh, caught me by surprise:
The Local [Norway] reports:Norway has scrapped its longstanding blasphemy law, meaning it is now legal to mock the beliefs of others, in a direct response to Januarys brutal attack on the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.
The proposal to rush through the change [originally voted on in 2009, but delayed for technical reasons since then,] was made in February by Conservative MP Anders B. Werp and Progress Party MP Jan Arild Ellingsen, who argued that the law underpins a perception that religious expressions and symbols are entitled to a special protection.
This is very unfortunate signal to send, and it is time that society clearly stands up for freedom of speech, the two wrote in their proposal.

It seems ‘progressives’ hatred of Christianity outweighs their love of self destruction through importing muhamedans hordes.
Historically Norway has always been the most ballsy of the Scandinavian countries.
Norway also has a successful program for deporting muslims.
Maybe - just maybe - the Vikings will find their hearts’ fire rekindled...
So what is the point of this? That blaspheming Christianity will make the muslim problem go away?
Spot on. Spend 40 minutes with Bill Warner as he explains that radical islam is a myth. There is ONLY ISLAM and it is ALL RADICAL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjBDDC4wVxk
ISLAMOPHOBIA
A word created by fascists and used by cowards to manipulate leftists and suicidal morons. But I repeat myself.
Spoken like a true Norwegian.
Fair amount of German and Swedish, and an Indian in the woodpile in great-grandma’s time it seems ;)
That qualifies you for a professor's chair at Harvard!;-)
With about one percent in regular church attendance, Norway has long passed the tipping point. This new law will make possible open blasphemy against the few Norwegians struggling to be Christians.
Poor babies.
BTW, I've never met a Christian who was struggling to be a Christian.
Christianity isn't afraid of criticism. For heavens sake, Christians bravely faced lions in the Colosseum without showing the slightest fear.
The Norwegian side of me is yelling at my Swedish side saying 'why can't you be more like him!'
The Scandinavians have put up with way too much from the Muslim immigrants. Our Viking forefathers wouldn't have put up with any of that crap.
Don’t think that is forthcoming somehow ;)
