It's kind of funny to know that Al Gore spends a lot of time hoping for news that never comes, year after year, hurricane season after hurricane season, winter after long winter.

Like the people in Hollywood, the only thing that probably consoles him is his incredible wealth and expensive diversions.

Decrease in hurricane activity: random variation

Increase in hurricane activity: Global Warming! Vote for the Magic Men!

Those climate "scientists" are less informed than I am, and I'm no scientist.

Notice how the decrease in hurricane activity COINCIDES with a decrease in decreased solar activity?

Strange, how they didn't notice that. Weather is solar-driven. That's how it works.

And if, as the title says, it's all "dumb luck", then are they saying that "dumb luck" drives climate? How does it power weather? It can't. The sun does. They're so intellectually false that they can't even describe, accurately, what is impelling our atmosphere to move around.

String 'em all up by their research grants! They're kickable, despicable creatures.

So the climate "brains" are p***** that none of the big hurricane in the last ten years didn't make landfall.

So after all the chicken little tales, weather is actually "luck"....and not farts and cars??

And we've spent how many bazillion dollars to change "dumb luck" into what??? more dumb luck??

I refuse to believe this. If more hurricanes are caused by my personal sins - driving a large van, for example - then fewer hurricanes are caused by my personal virtue.

Seems to me they forgot about Sandy...

She and Christie brought us Zerohisseff...a storm still hitting the US.

I am not a scientist but don’t you need HEAT to have a hurricane?

I can remember right after Hurricane Katrina, the screeching siren song from lefties like Michael Moore, et al was that going forward (from about 2005) that there was going to be at least one Katrina scale hurricane making landfall each year and that soon there were going to be even bigger ones hitting the United States. All because of climate change. What utter nonsense and the way they were carrying on like little children making these stupid predictions, I’m glad they were proven wrong big time. Of course, it is never ever about them being wrong (major sarc).

When hurricanes strike, it’s “Global Warming”; when they don’t strike, it’s “dumb luck”. Such is the childish rationalization of the Cargo Cult Shamans at the altar of CAGW. What’s next, fake bamboo shrines made to look like weather stations?

Well humans have been pumping out CO2 like crazy during those 10 years (as the enviros never fail to tell us), so obviously there’s only one conclusion ....

more CO2 = less hurricanes!!

The science is settled, no need for further debate. And anyone who says otherwise is a bigoted Hurricane-Denier.

Some liberals put up billboards in Orlando back in 2005 claiming that all the hurricanes were due to BUSH and GLOBAL WARMING.

Odd how they can’t claim the opposite now to be true.

The insurance industry got tired of dishing out the hurricane-damage dollars and simply WILLED them away from American shores. We humans have that kind of control, remember?

I’ve been a practicing scientist for almost 40 years, and I’ve never been able to quantify or measure luck.

Causation has not been established here, and the alchemists who rely on taxpayer dollars are desperate to preserve their funding stream.

About ten years ago weren't the warmists forecasting major hurricane after major hurricane slamming into the U.S. every year and killing millions?

And now the warmists, who previously forecast major droughts from global warming, are saying more rain can be expected.

I want to know warmists...what disaster is going to hit us? Make up your minds. Are we going to bake to death or drown?

Ask the victims of Hurricane Ike near Galveston if there was no destruction. Technically labelled a Category 2, the storm did as much destruction as a 3 or 4.

That doesn’t negate the point of the story but it does point out that there have been destructive storms in the past 10 years. Remember “Superstorm Sandy”?

I do recall, though, the strong storms of 2005 were cited as proof of the disasters of Global Warming. Well, where are those people now after a decade of rather mild hurricane seasons?
