At 9:21 a.m. Eastern Time on Friday in America, former top Obama aide David Axelrod conceded the UK election.
“Congratulations to my friend @Messina2012 on his role in the resounding Conservative victory in Britain,” Axelrod wrote on Twitter.
The surprisingly decisive victory for Prime Minister David Cameron and his Tories also delivered a big win to Jim Messina, President Barack Obama’s 2012 campaign manager, who advised the Conservative Party and triumphed over his fellow Obama aide, Axelrod, who advised the Labour Party.

what, the Brits don’t have any home-grown political hacks?
Nothing new, really. Our political hacks, from both sides of the aisle, regularly go overseas to hawk their talents. Israel, India, wherever they can get $$$. They are just ‘Hired Guns’ that go wherever the political winds may blow.............and not necessarily on the right or left side: witness Messina....................
Well, two things I see here. The conservative party is probably not anywhere that we would consider conservative. Messina is probably center left, and right in-line. That said, you are right, for many it’s about $$$ not beliefs. Also, it’s interesting that Axelrod was always outfront to get the accolades, but Messina is probably the one who really deserves credit for the Obama political machine.
I’ve seen several businesses where the front-man really is just a frontman, only to learn the real brains are someone else in the organization who goes on to other big successes while the old front man continues the me-me-me thing in a new place with only moderate success.
I’ve found many overseas voters and media even more gullible and stupid than our own here. Many actually still believe the “hope and change” snake-oil

Today’s Conservative Party is where the Labour Party was with Tony Blair...I can’t find a single difference between Cameron and Blair. It’s just that Labour and the Liberal Democrats have drifted so far to the Left, but unfortunately that has pushed the Conservatives to the Left as well.
Says a lot that Cameron hired Barry’s political handler.
Really, there isn’t that much difference between a “Conservative” and a Labour victory.
