I’ll take the other side on this one for now. So what if he did? Why did the cops chase him? Because he ran when they looked at him? Is that reason enough? I say no.
I say it is a reason. He was a known drug dealer! If he had drugs on him he would run from the police who recognized him for who he was! Running to avoid another arrest for drug dealing. And the police were very suspicious of him at that point!
The ACLU says that you are wrong...
"Whatever you do, keep your cooldont run away and dont insult the officer. If you ignore the officers request to stop or if you become combative with the officer, you can be arrested."
Freddie Gray, already with a long rap sheet, was convicted in May 2013 and sentenced to over 7 years, suspended, 18 months probation. The conviction included violation of a previous probation, second time for him.
Before his probation was up, he was arrested two more times. Soon after the probation was over, he was arrested five more times. He was out on bail for the last two arrests from March 2015, when he was subject to "an illegal arrest" in April and subsequently died.
