Like a Pringles vendor sounding an alarm about obesity, Pope Francis fashioned himself a feminist last week.
You are not reading The Onion.
It was an epic mismatch of messenger and message, and I say that as someone who is thankful for this pope, admires him greatly and believes that a change of tone even without a change in teaching has meaning and warrants celebration.
But a change of tone in defiance of fact should be flagged (and flogged) as such. And neither Pope Francis nor any other top official in the bastion of male entitlement known as the Vatican can credibly assert concern about parity between the sexes. Their own kitchen is much too messy for them to call out the ketchup smudges in anybody else’s.

NYT wants us to believe that killing babies shows the way they “value women”....
Forget about muslims who stone their women to death, rape non-muslim girls and women and behead Christians.

But doesn’t it say something that he hasn’t joined the Episcopal Church when he could have?
Previous to this new incarnation of Frank he was doing restaurant reviews for the NYT bird cage liner.
Frank is a journalistic grifte, a**kisser extraordinaire and the New York Magazine has stated the same. Frank has new digs- it’s a onebedroom with garden access.
Or how about we discuss China, whose rampant abortion has created massive gender disparities? Or how about how abortion depopulates Russia? Nope crickets chirping at NYT.
That's all we need to know.
But if your pope said that you should, wouldn’t that mean you were defying your own religion?

I think Catholicism values women a great deal... as baby-makers. They are very valuable... as baby-makers. Not as much else.
It’s what’s known as a hypothetical inquiry.
And the Duggar cult? They are not Catholic.
Our diocese has many large families; it’s nothing to see multiple two pew families at each Mass. The parents are so happy and the children so well behaved. I’ve never seen a large family mom show the slightest hint of regret for her role as mother to her children.

The Truth of the matter is that ALL CHURCHES demean women to one degree or another. Belief in God, a good idea. Believing in a CHURCH, not so much. They are ALL in the GOD BUSINESS. They are ALL about money and power. If you have either ( or both), you can pretty much do as you please and YOUR CHURCH will look the other way. But God doesn’t!
Modern American Leftists of all varieties undervalue women. The value of a woman, in general, starts with her functionality in terms of the natural order of things. The value of the individual woman may be defined in various ways, some quite subtle; but the primary should still be in relation to the natural female functionality--how good a mother; how good a nurturer of the young; how ideal a mate & home maker. Anyone who understands sexuality--the division of species into male and female, must appreciate how truly the sexes complement each other; how truly the species can only be complete in that complementary functionality.
Anyone who puts the more out-in-the world, material traits ahead of those which go to the physical, social & psychological health of the individuals in the next generation, has very, very skewed values.
Frank Bruni is apparently an intellectual joke. I would love to debate the "dysron" on television. No, he would not stand up well, and I would have to baby him a bit, rather than appear a bully; but in his very intellectual ineptitude, he would be a useful foil to wake up a few of those brainwashed onto the same bent. At the end his disrespect for femininity would be obvious.
Which is why the woman who gave birth to our Savior is so prominently featured in every Catholic Church you enter.
What a maroon this guy is.
