Did a couple searches and it seems that it has been a fairly wide used nickname for the statute that allowed such home protection since 1985. I would guess that if enacted today, it might have a different nickname.

Some screen doors give you the option of putting a glass panel over the screen for winter use. I imagine the homeowner had not yet removed it for spring/summer.

They are calling 18-1-704.5 a “Make My Day” law.

I think it is better called the castle doctrine in this specific case. But, CO does allow the use of deadly force anywhere to protect yourself against deadly force.

I have a buddy who recently retired that lives in that area. One afternoon, I came to visit for the first time and saw a gigantic moose head over the front door. A corner of his den was just filled with deer/elk horns, and rifles were all over his walls.
