The first problem is that we call adults in college, kids.
They’re your “kids” if you are their parent. That’s a familial term on endearment.
The term “kids” should not be used at any other time after high school.
I disagree. College students, for the most part, are not fit to be called “adults” in anything but the legal sense. They have chose to prolong their adolescence, often long past the time they graduate college, so I will prolong calling them “kids”.
