Very sad to hear this because people who tithe are honoring God and shouldn’t be looking for a tax break. You are likely correct, though. Jesus did say that one cannot serve both God and money. Christians should consider that matter with God regardless of what the government says.

It is not that they are looking for a tax break. But neither are they using the money for their own profit. Why should they pay taxes on it?

It is good to be noble and have pure motives, but don’t let that turn into being a doormat and having unrealistic expectations of people. Most are not rich. Their donation should be treated like other non-profit donations.

I agree with you 100%.

We’ve got to trust God. It is not always easy to tithe even with the way it is now but I know it’s God’s will. It will all work out well for the true followers of Christ.
