I’ve been fascinated to note that it’s the very same Greco- Roman pagan practices that are re- blossoming now that the church has become so weak in society.

What make me nervous is how much we have in common with the whore of Babylon in Revelation 18.

Until roughly the mid-twentieth century, there were three widespread practices in antiquity that Christians regarded as antithetical to their faith: abortion, homosexual acts, and leisured divorce. We still do, the difference now is that there is less of us.
The Church was small in the 4c. The Church is becoming smaller today. That, in itself, is not surprising. It is entirely possible that the expansion of the Church in the Middle Ages was a one-time phenomenon, while Small Church is the norm. Throughout history we see that virtue attracts, but also that sin attracts; "many are called, but few are chosen".
