Top Jewish Donor for Rand Paul Switches to Scott Walker

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has poached Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul’s "most prominent pro-Israel backer," The Washington Free Beacon reports.

Rich Roberts, a major Republican donor who Politico described as "a kingmaker among ultra-Orthodox Jews" in his home state of New Jersey, had been a benefactor to Paul, even paying for the senator’s 2013 trip to Israel.

But Roberts is now throwing his support to Walker, who has not yet declared his candidacy, though it’s expected, because he believes the Wisconsin governor is more electable.

"I like Rand Paul a lot, our relationship goes back now about three or four years," Roberts told the Free Beacon. "I like him as a person, I think he’s very well-intended.

"But I think that Scott Walker is [a greater] likelihood of being the next president. I think Scott Walker is also a tremendous individual."

Paul’s campaign did not return a request for comment by the Free Beacon.

“.....The question is whether Bush’s civility will turn his presidential campaign into a suicide mission. After six years of the Obama presidency, many Republicans — not only the ones on talk radio — want a fighter, not a lover. Polls by the Pew Research Center have found that most conservatives want their leaders to stand by the party’s principles, not to compromise with the other side. (Liberals break the opposite way, in favor of compromise.)

There’s a path for Bush to win the GOP nomination, beginning in New Hampshire, whose contrary voters often embrace civility. It helps that independents can vote in the GOP primary there.

The path requires Bush to win solid support from a silent majority of non-tea-party Republicans, who make up a little more than half of the party. It probably requires several of the more conservative candidates — Scott Walker, Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz — to knock each other out. (That’s partly how Mitt Romney won the nomination in 2012, although he faced less formidable challengers.) And it probably requires one more ingredient: a flash or two of unwonted pugnacity from the candidate.”....

“.....Finally, Walker made an under-the-radar move that is worthy of notice. His presidential SuperPAC hired Shirley & Banister, one of the most respected P.R. firms in the conservative movement, to handle its messaging and strategy. The P.R. firm was founded by Craig Shirley, the best-selling biographer of Ronald Reagan. I know this firm well, because I retained their services myself the past few months. Their main interest is promoting causes/people that are advancing movement conservatism. So they’re not going to sign on with Walker in order to promote milquetoast (Commandment #9)....”

The Orthodox Jews aren't a bunch of neo Communists as are the rest of my tribe (look at Ben Shapiro). The Orthodox practice Judaism as their religion instead of the bismarckian welfare state.

That’s partly how Mitt Romney won the nomination in 2012, although he faced less formidable challengers.

It is my opinion that Mitt Romney won the nomination because the GOPe Party establishment in Virginia deliberately changed the rules for their primary to kick off the ballot all serious challengers to Mitt Romney.

Mitt Romney was not leading until the Virginia Primary gave him a deliberate edge. It was Bullsh*t that these Establishment party officials could deliberately steer the nomination to him and thwart the choices of Republican primary voters.

Saying he looks saner than Pat Buchanan is not what I would consider a sufficient accomplishment. He's still insane enough.
