The 19-year-old daughter of Guatemalan immigrants is among a group of women who are close to completing a 15-day fast in Los Angeles. They hoped to persuade city council members there to raise the minimum wage of $9 an hour to $15 an hour.

The city council doesn't pay wages, business owners do....and they are willing to pay you what you are worth.

If, through your efforts they can make $18.00 per hour...then, and only then, can they afford to pay you $15.00 per hour.

If a salesman earns business worth $100,000.00 to his company, he cannot exxpect them to pay him $125,000.00 per year.

It just doesn't work that way...get an education, learn a trade, look presentable...learn to speak proper English, get a respectable haircut/style, dress appropriately (even if you have to get your clothes from Goodwill)...

stop whining that the world isn't fair (it isn't) and get off your dead ass and do something to show a potential employer that you are WORTH $15.00 per hour.
