Except it's not that they're pretending to be something they're not — because that is the true face of the Republican party.
Honestly, if it wasn't we'd have seen actual action on:

1. The national debt / responsible finances.
2. Prosecuting Fast & Furious as the multiple felonies and treaty violations it was/is.
3. Prosecuting/defunding the NSA after the domestic espionage came to light.
4. Prosecuting/defunding the IRS after its political targeting came to light.
5. Repealing/defunding ObamaCare.

And many other things.
The truth is that none of this happened because the Republican party does not want it to happen.
