In keeping with his past performances — I believe it wouldn’t be out of realm of possibility for him to tell Japan that they are wrong about everything and they need to make more room for China...Basically giving them the Netanyahu treatment.
I am crossing my fingers and hoping he doesn’t call the PM “Abe” as in Lincoln, as opposed to Ah-bay—considering the way he has mangled other words (corps comes to mind), it is not inconceivable.
Wouldn’t put it past him.
I have understood that emperor worship has returned to Japan and that is what led up to world war 2. This will not end well

Don't worry. Anyone who is so sophisticated and erudite that he calls Pakistan 'pok -I-ston' wouldn't possibly mispronounce the name of a head of state.
Christianity is growing in Japan - quicker then many other religions.

Thanks for the good news. Japan has been indifferent to Christianity for a long, long time. I wonder if it's real, or just a Japanese cultural fad, like Japanese KFC Christmas.
Wife is japanese - and while the shogunate definitely clamped down for hundreds of years, since the end of WWII it’s been growing. It’s showing up in mainstream cultural streams (TV, movies, novels more and more - I see more foreign shows then US in my home right now). There is some faddishness that shows up periodically, but that is often seen for even the older mainstays of buddhism and shintoism. The thing I liked about the article most is what it said about the youth.
By the way sorry about the pics that showed up in my post (if you saw them) not sure what I did to make that happen.
