Its been fascinating to watch the media discover Marco Rubio as the GOPs new front-runner. He is suddenly leading the field in a Fox News poll with a less-than-overwhelming 13 percent, just a tick ahead of Scott Walker (12), Rand Paul (10), Jeb Bush and Mike Huckabee (9), and Ted Cruz (8).
Not bad for a freshman senator, until you realize that the polls margin of error is 5 percent. Meaning that, in theory, Cruz could be first and Rubio could be sixth.
One of the most popular Rubio story lines involves the evolution and possible strain on the Jeb-and-Marco friendship.
He has a pretty detailed tax reform plan that has generated almost no headlines, gets angry that Republicans are portrayed as the party of the rich and believes party leaders need to talk more about working Americans.
He also knows that he alienated part of the GOP base by working with Democrats to push immigration reform through the Senate, only to see it die in the House. Rubio now believes a sweeping bill cannot pass and that border security must come first.
Rubios biggest liability is that (like Cruz and Paul) hes a first-term senator in a party that has been assailing the election of the last first-time senator in 2008.
The good news for Rubio is that hes now the nominal front-runner. Thats also the bad news. Tougher media scrutiny cant be far behind, and how he handles it will be a major test of his fledgling candidacy.

MO is being groomed for something. She’s had surgery/lost weight. Her face looks different, too.
I think not. They will vote for Bush or, if Bush is somehow deemed nonviable they will vote for Rubio. They know the fix is in and they know the nature of the fix. They also know what happened when the fellow with the serious Conservative reputation actually got nominated. Reagan won overwhelmingly. Three times (Bush I seen as Reagan 3). Bush can be counted on to throw the election. And he doesn’t even have to throw it actively as McCain did. Neither Rubio nor Bush will get the conservative vote nor will he get the “Reagan Democrats.” Independents who may like Jeb will vote for the real thing which is the official Democrat.
Now for the first transgender black president.
I’ve had people, who voted for Obama, and now regret it, tell me: “I will never vote for another Black person for President again.”
