In a closed-door meeting with Jewish Donors Saturday night, former President George W. Bush delivered his harshest public criticisms to date against his successor on foreign policy, saying that President Barack Obama is being naïve about Iran and the pending nuclear deal and losing the war against the Islamic State. One attendee at the Republican Jewish Coalition session, held at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas with owner Sheldon Adelson in attendance, transcribed large portions of Bush's remarks.
The former president, who rarely ever criticizes Obama in public, at first remarked that the idea of re-entering the political arena was something he didn't want to do. He then proceeded to explain why Obama, in his view, was placing the U.S. in "retreat" around the world.

How is it public? It’s public when news outlets pick it up and post national/online articles about it. That’s how it usually works.

True, but he was simply honoring the tradition of not criticizing the current president. In that regard, I do not blame him. On the other hand, in consideration of how much damage the feckless fool on the hill has wrought, he should have spoken up earlier. But who would have listened? Wait till the feckless one is out of office and see if he follows precedent. He will be insufferable.
Bush deserves a Presidential Medal of Freedom for his post-911 work.

Sorry, not impressed. This guy let the Democrats walk all over him (and his party by extension) by always refusing to defend himself and his decisions. This guy was more worried about pi$$ing off Democrats than those who elected him.

I think I have some similar old emails. His reticence, against his detractors, did more harm than good.

Bush has been speaking against Obam’s policies for sometime....it’s just not for public consumption. If this was purposely leaked or otherwise it’s because Bush has a purpose for doing so.
