The two Michigan women lost in the wilderness for almost 2 weeks survived on Girl Scout cookies and cheese puffs, police say. Isn't there a survival rule of three, as in you can survive 3 minutes without air, 3 days without water, and 3 weeks without food? If you have some chubbiness, as those women appear to have, they could go several weeks without food. More critical to have water available, which is why I always carry multiple bottles of water stored in my truck. And a first-aid kit. The food can wait.

The sisters probably looked in better condition than did Louis Jordan, who was reported to have survived 67 days lost at sea, eating raw fish. Many people still don’t believe his story.

No kidding! I’ll bet Cartman could go 2 weeks on Cheesy Poofs and GS cookies if you let him sit in front of a TV long enough!

Crisp Point is extremely remote, as is most of Luce County outside of Newberry. There's probably as many bears as people outside of the Newberry area. They are lucky to be alive since is still gets real cold at night in the UP (20's).
For two middle age women outside of the area, they probably did the smart thing to sit and wait and avoid freezing to death. I probably would have gone out and hoofed it, but I grew up in a remote area, have a good sense of direction, and could probably be able to get from Crisp Point to either Newberry or Whitefish Point/Paradise. I'd also have my gun with me in case the bears or the wolves decided I was food. Bears are especially active this time of year.
