More likely they got word The Saudis or Egyptians would do what we wouldn’t.

“Iranian warships arrived Thursday in the southern Yemen port of Aden despite the presence of several U.S. warships in the area as well. It is believed the Iranian vessels are carrying weapons to re-arm the Shiite Houthi rebels who have seized control over the port city and the nations capital, Saana.”
So, who to believe?

Too bad Yemen does not need artificial reefs. The Iranian ships would make good ones. Loaded supertankers now draw almost 100 feet. The Bar el Mandeb is about 300 feet deep at the most.

Fighter jets taking off from the carrier have been relaying the convoys location to the U.S. Navy's higher command since the start of the week.

Don’t let them fool you. They just don’t want to say it. This was a show of force to those Iranian ships that they would not be allowed to offload those weapons in Yemen. They just don’t want to announce it because of the ongoing nuclear negotiations. These rebels are not going to be able to fight for long without supplies.
To: Old Teufel Hunden
They don’t need to unload the entire ship, just a couple of tons of crates. That might take just an hour once they get tied up to the dock.

This was a show of force to those Iranian ships Obama's not real big on using a show of force. He is however big on gestures to show his "good faith"... which is more likely now when he's trying desperately to make it look like he's getting a nuke deal with Iran.
More than likely the arms have gotten through... we'll just have to wait and see if Saudi Arabia tracks them and destroys them.
To: Blood of Tyrants
Maybe they were off course and needed to be redirected to a more suitable landing spot?

Since when has the Fraud done ANYTHING that is in the best interest of this country? Why should we assume he has done anything of benefit to us now?

Eh the Roosevelt is still following them and the flotilla was joined by two armed Iranian naval vessels overnight.

Collaboration between Iran and Barky. Gives Barky some creds about his toughness to make selling the nuke sellout easier.

Just out of curiosity... what is this
Carrier looking thing at Bandar Abbas?
Is Iran running mock Carrier landings? It doesn't look like an actual ship.

Beats me.
DEBKAfile, in an article posted at 8:58 PM Israel Daylight time today, stated
Senior US defense officials reported Thursday, April 23, that the Iranian convoy suspected of carrying weapons for Houth rebels in Yemen appeared to have turned around and was heading north toward Iran. Other Pentagon sources were more cautious: This isnt over yet, they said, in reference to a potential showdown shaping up from Monday, when the USS Roosevelt carrier and USS Normandy missile cruiser reached the Arabian Sea. The Iranian convoy was tracked by the US, Saudi, Egyptian and UAE fleets, any one of which may have intercepted an Iranian vessels trying to unload arms for the rebels. Emphasis added.

"They dont need to unload the entire ship, just a couple of tons of crates. That might take just an hour once they get tied up to the dock."
There's getting into and out of the harbor (coordination with the harbor pilot), there's pier times, there's getting the proper cranes etc.. needed at the pier to offload. Keep in mind these aren't the only ships coming into and out of that harbor. It's not simply, pull up to the doc and offload your stuff and leave. It's a lot more complicated than that. I think the first report of them being in the harbor was bogus.

"Since when has the Fraud done ANYTHING that is in the best interest of this country? Why should we assume he has done anything of benefit to us now?"
Because there's no way these ships docked, offloaded those weapons and left in less than a day. Hence, they turned away before they could do this. Simple deduction my dear Watson. The first report was bogus.

Or maybe the Iranians forgot something.
