Has anything really good come out of Philly since, oh, maybe 1776?

I am baffled as to why decent people continue to live in these urban jungles.

LOL, I know what you mean. On the other hand, there is always at least some redeeming quality of every city:

Walter E. Williams
Mark Levin
Michelle Malkin
St. Katharine Drexel

In the sixties and arly seventies, we used to take public transportation into Philadelphia all the time.mwe used to vist the art musician attend afternoon concerts at the Academy of music, shop at downtown department stores and attend afternoon concerts at the Park along the West River Drive.

it wasn’t safe to do that in either NY or downtown Los Angeles. I still remember going to Los Angeles with my husband for a job interview and going to eat at a restaurant down under the Bonaventure hotel. After dinner we decided to go for a walk outside. We were the only people on the street and there were no stores. We couldn’t understand it. It wasn’t until later that we found out how dangerous downtown Los Angeles really was.
