We all agree that the Sandy Hook massacre was horrendous—but there will always be the mentally ill among.
If just one teacher or the principal were allowed to be armed, these school shootings would stop in a heartbeat.
Alternatively, if the schools hired armed guards, we’d never hear of another child massacre.
Our public school children are setting ducks!
Knowing a great many teachers I am aware of this factoid:
Most teachers will try to protect their children in the event of an attempt at mass shooting. Many of them who block the doorways or make other attempts to stop the shooter will be shot themselves.
They need to have a better chance of shutting the attack down before large numbers of people, children and adults, are killed.
And they deserve to have a better chance to make it through the attack without being murdered.
I would arm the teachers and admin and make it known to all who came in the door:
“CCWs are welcome. The staff and teachers are heavily armed and well trained.”
