Didn’t Sanderson win the last Hugo?

He seems closet conservative.

But I could be dead wrong.

Never heard him speak on politics.

If by Sanderson you mean Brandon Sanderson (my favorite current author), he was nominated in 2014 for the novel which finished the Wheel of Time series but he didn’t win.
