EARLIER:

WASHINGTON - A U.S. congressional panel will examine whether federal Drug Enforcement Administration agents divulged secrets at sex parties that Colombian drug lords may have staged to elicit sensitive information.

Following revelations of misconduct by DEA agents, a senior Obama administration official told Reuters on Tuesday that DEA chief Michele Leonhart, who was grilled in a congressional hearing last week about the sex parties, was expected to step down from her post in the near future.

A DEA spokesman had no immediate comment.

A spokeswoman for the Republican majority at the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform said the panel's leaks inquiry would also examine the culture and leadership of the DEA and other Justice Department investigative agencies.

The events with prostitutes took place between 2001 and 2005, but U.S. officials said the DEA did not investigate them until years later.

Could always blame it on Hussein's sequester.

A major scandal in EVERY agency. There’s no way this isn’t orchestrated for the purpose of embarrassing and weakening America. If that weren’t the case, these figureheads would be removed IMMEDIATELY. But they stay on board to maximize the pain and embarrassment.

Isn't it wonderful having a bunch of criminals running our government? Not to mention, with a nutless opposition party.

“...There’s no way this isn’t orchestrated for the purpose of embarrassing and weakening America...”

Exactly. All part of the agenda from day one.

You could be right but I prefer the simpler explanation: Obama has hired a bunch of incompetents to staff the government, focusing more on their political ideology than on their management competency. AG Eric Holder would be example #1.

Defund the so-called War on Drugs. It's not incompetence, it's blatant corruption pure and simple.

Without reading the whole article, I heard on the radio that before this, she was a police officer.

Just like the rest of the officials in this administration, she was completely unqualified for the job and only got it because she is black and has an innie instead of an outie.

Remember how nice it was when adults ran the government?

“You are in charge of the DEA. Can you even spell DEA?”

“Ummmm....D.......ummmmm.......”

“It’s the letter after D.”

“Ummmmmmm.......16?”

The best reason for federal drug de-criminalization is to disband the DEA. The agency is corrupt beyond belief and they have done nothing to curb drug addiction. Quite the opposite, the DEA has facilitated drug cartels and money laundering.
Let the states decide on drug laws. We’ll have 50 laboratories of democracy which can provide a variety of successful (and unsuccessful) models for diverse populations. Interstate drug cases states can be dealt with through the federal courts.
Ultimately, drug abuse can only be curtailed by cultural and moral efforts. Coercion will only lead to a police state.

They were willing participants in Fast and Furious, too.

They’re collaborators. Just one wing of the Uniparty. There is no opposition party.
