With one well-received January speech in Iowa, Scott Walker shot to the top of the polls. After a successful campaign launch, Marco Rubio is slowly gaining ground with donors and with conservatives who see a candidate with an inspiring biography and exceptional skills as a communicator.
Yet its Jeb Bush whos frequently described as the front-runner in a crowded field of more than a dozen Republican candidates. The reality is that hes not at this stage in the nominating contest, no one is.
The Republican nomination is wide open, said Ana Navarro, a Miami-based strategist who is close to Bush. Well try many flavors of the month before we settle on one.
Bush, the former Florida governor who hasnt run for office in 13 years, seemed impressive right out of the gate with his sudden, aggressive moves last November. He sent strong enough signals to box out Mitt Romney, the 2012 nominee whod been toying with a third run for the White House, and began securing commitments from GOP operatives to work on his eventual campaign and from the donors needed to fund it.
Based on the early show of strength, Bush was anointed the clear Republican front-runner last December, referencing a poll showing him leading the field with 23 percent of the overall Republican vote nationwide.
Now, as the field is beginning to take shape and voters are hearing more about other candidates, its clear that Bush is sitting right there on the starting line with everyone else: Walker, Rubio, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Chris Christie and more than a dozen second-tier candidates less likely to affect the battle for the nomination.
From his position on Common Core to immigration reform to his family name, its become abundantly clear Bush has a lot to overcome.

That's because he's the candidate the left wing media wants for the Republicans. Just as McCain and Romney were.
They are terrified of Cruz.
They should be.
Politico is going to be real embarrased with who the voters really demand.
If Jeb would just jump in the Democrat primary he would blow Hillary right out of the water.
Politico and the lefties want Bush cause they know he’s the closest thing they can get to having an Obama like 4 more years. It’s obvious.

I’m not holding my nose for their designated loser.
And if he jumped to Democrat he would at least be more honest about who he is and what he would do. End the Charade!
Remember that in fall 2007 the McCain campaign was out of money and done before the primaries even started.
Never underestimate the eGOP’s ability to bring forth a loser.
“no one has the edge”
Yeah, keep tellin’ yerself that.
“want Bush cause they know hes the closest thing they can get to having an Obama like 4 more years.”
And/or they think he’ll be the easiest to beat.
The title of “front-runner” will be meaningless for at least another six months.
I the election is more than a year away. Several political lifetimes away.
“Politico is going to be..” I see them as a laughing stock mow.
That too... so he’s a win/win for them.
I do not know much about Jeb’s 8 year record as governor of Florida. Did he govern as a liberal? Increase taxes? Increased budget deficits. How about his education policies in Florida?
He’s not what America needs. Florida can keep him.
