Fuel mogul and conservative activist David Koch today declared to reporters that Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker would easily beat former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in a general electionshortly after the co-owner of Koch Industries heard a private speech by the midwestern Republican at the Union League Club in Manhattan.
After meeting with Mr. Walker and a group of GOP donors called the Empire Club, Mr. Koch told the Observer that he believed the governor would trounce the former first lady if Republicans get involved in the race.
I think so, no question about it. You know, if enough Republicans have a thing to say, why, hell defeat her by a major margin, he said, effusively praising Mr. Walkers performance. I thought he had a great message. Scott Walker is terrific and I really wish him all the best. Hes a tremendous candidate to be the nominee in my opinion.
Mr. Koch said the Republican candidates should focus their primary season fire on Ms. Clinton to reduce her appeal among voters, arguing that she will most likely be the Democratic nominee.
Shes obviously the front-runner, so, I think with these various candidates, get involved in the primary, later this year and in the spring and early summer, they can be very effective in diminishing her points of view, in my opinion, he said.
Mr. Walker has not yet declared his candidacy, but has been fundraising and addressing audiences of Republican donors in New York and elsewhere, and is expected to announce soon. The GOP field currently includes Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, though New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former New York Gov. George Pataki are also likely to run.
Mr. Koch said he was most impressed by Mr. Walkers answer to a major question he asked on how do we improve the public education system?
Why, he spent about 15 minutes answering the question, and he did that brilliantly. So obviously, I really like his point of view, he said, though he declined to go into detail on what Mr. Walker said.
Not everyone was so happy to see the Wisconsin governor, who shot to national prominence for stripping his states public employees of collective bargaining rights and subsequently passing controversial right-to-work laws. Demonstrators from the New York Central Labor Council, the Teamsters and DC 37 massed in the rain on the opposite sidewalk, shouting Walker go home!
The crowd of union members howled on seeing Mr. Koch enter the building. Mr. Koch and his brother, Charles, are often reviled targets of left-wing activists, who view their extensive political work as an unfair influence on democracy.
The Kochs are also known as philanthropists and patrons of the arts in New York City.
Any person randomly selected from the phone book SHOULD beat her by a margin as wide as her a$$.
That is very funny!
: )
I have a feeling Walker will be the ultimate GOPe candidate, in which case, I’ll be looking forward to voting 3rd party in the generals! Still holding out hope that Cruz is the guy, but it’s getting interesting.
True, if this was a reasonably intelligent country, but it isn’t. The voter rolls are swollen with idiots who put more thought into their vote for American Idol of DWTS. Couple that with rampant fraud and Scott Walker will be fortunate to limp over the finish line.
We said this about Zero too ... never underestimate the stupidity or the dishonesty of the left
Very, very true.
The race will come down between CRUZ and WALKER. This afternoon Fox News poll had WALKER at 23% and CRUZ at 22%. WALKER leads in New Hampshire and Iowa right now. CRUZ has a commanding lead in South Carolina.
TED CRUZ - Movin’ on up - 2016

While that is true for the past, I think the Left has not ever before seen this level of broad media mockery that is going on today, against their nominee or more-than-likely nominee, Hillary Clinton. Even the conservative candidates are ribbing her in good humor, without animosity, as if it’s already a foregone conclusion that she is one human pratfall— a cartoon!
They have seen everything else against her, like opposition, hatred, dread and fear, but mockery is a serious impediment that she better overcome fast, before it starts to stick.
I certainly do hope that the race comes down to the choice between Scott Walker and Ted Cruz -— a classic win-win for America.
I would also hope-—and expect-— that these two outstanding Americans will conduct a highly civilized discussion about the ideas and principles they hold dear, leaving the backbiting and character assaults to ignorant partisans.
Then it wold be REALLY great if the loser became the winner’s VP candidate. I support Walker, but I’ll go down the line for Cruz if he gets the nomination.

Wasn’t one of Alinsky’s primary tactics supposed to be ridicule?
Sauce for the goose, and all that.....this could really get the Dems confused when they see Republicans carrying around “Rules for Radicals” or whatever it’s named.
Can't wait until algore is announced as a "Climate mogul and leftist activist"
Or how about....hillary being introduced as a "Best selling author..and Liberal Activist"
Oh wait.....How about "Chinese money launderer..and a Socialist activist????"
The jokes write themselves...........

I’d be really interested in hearing that presentation. He’s obviously big on vouchers and is trying to spread them statewide this year in Wisconsin, but I wonder what he took 15 minutes to cover?
If his Wisconsin voucher expansion manages to pass (and it might not since some Republican legislators are nervous about it), it will permit any child in a family earning under 185% of the poverty level to take the state aid and use it to finance schooling in a different school, public or private.
Imagine if a private school nearby a public school expressed stated goals of teaching teaching western values, U.S. history with emphasis on the founders, taught respect for the country, all while turning out college bound kids at a greater rate than the public school eventually. It wouldn’t take long for the parents earning 300-500% of the poverty level to insist upon the same opportunity for their kids. Meanwhile, the public schools would be forced to jettison some of the nonsense they now teach to retain students. It really could revolutionize education, not only in Wisconsin, but across the country.
It will be interesting to see if the state legislature goes through with it. Public schools across Wisconsin are pretty highly respected generally, at least by the local populations, and especially in the more rural areas, so it will be a tough sell, I suspect.
That is bleeping fantastic. This is how to take the fight to the liberals. And it's such low-hanging fruit. What inner city parent wouldn't want to send his child to a private school?
Excellent website, BTW. The guy is doing everything right. He’s a brilliant tactician, in addition to everything else.
Would people stay home again if Walker was the nominee? This would undoubtedly give the world Hitlery. If Walker beats Cruz, is Walker not a good candidate?
Me,too.
I hadn’t thought about it that way, but you certainly have a point about Alinsky. The media knows all about the Rules, and how to use them. They are wanting her banged up enough to encourage someone they can be enthusiastic about to get in the race.
I think it is important for our field to continue to rib her. It looks good, it’s fun, and it takes away her elephant in the room status, brings her down to earth and besides, it’s all true and she is real fodder for mockery.
Especially the part about her being the “smartest” woman in the world. LOL!!! Hardly!
