It’s really surprising how adaptable puppies are. I adopted my Great Dane from a breeder in TX, who shipped him to me here in TN on the day of one of our worst hail storms in many years. I got him at the airport just in time to get him home before the hail hit. Nevertheless, he managed to make it through the night in his crate and we began to bond the next day. Now, four years later, everything is great and he’s a really fantastic dog.
Do you need a dump truck load of dog food to feed him ?
Just be careful there are certain medical issues associated with Great Danes , they sometimes have problems with their colons twisting and cutting off the blood supply.
You and your vet need to keep a eye on that.
German Shepards tend to have problems with their hips and spines.
Some breeds tend to have problems with spleen cancer.
