Dang... I got smacked by a teacher once. When I got home, Momma was waiting (news travels pretty fast in small towns) and she smacked me again for embarrassing her. And then... Dad came home.
I never gave a teacher a reason to smack me ever again.

There were a few times i got paddled in elementary school. My parents invariable response was “no doubt you had it coming”. Times were certainly different back then.
