Weekly Message: Illegal Aliens Should Not Get General Assistance (illegals are not vulnerable)
http://www.maine.gov/governor/lepage/ ^ | June 24, 2014 | Governor Paul LePage

Posted on 04/16/2015 3:23:28 AM PDT by ObamahatesPACoal

I have always said Maine’s safety net should help our most needy citizens. These vulnerable Mainers include the elderly, children, disabled and mentally ill.

Hello. This is Governor Paul LePage.

Illegal aliens who choose to live in Maine are not our most vulnerable citizens. We need to take care of Mainers first. I think most Mainers would agree.

During my first few days in office in 2011, I issued an Executive Order to repeal Maine’s status as a sanctuary state. In 2004 Democratic leadership banned state officials from asking people about their legal status when they requested benefits. My order rescinded that policy.

Also in 2011, the State eliminated state welfare benefits for illegal immigrants.

Last week, we took the next step. We told Maine towns and cities they will no longer get state funding to give to illegal aliens.

(SNIP)

Local taxpayers must speak for themselves. I urge all Mainers to tell your city councilors and selectmen to stop handing out your money to illegals.

Nice role model for national stance. No assistance whatsoever to illegal aliens except to help them leave the US.

We must have more of ‘em..................

......without ‘em, the Dhimmocrats would be in real trouble. After all, they have dug up all the voters they could without many more backhoes.

Yeah, too bad we don’t seem to have one running for president.

Might as well cast an early vote for Hillary and come back after the elections to bitch about her win.

Well, the only good news in this regard is the sometimes quoted notion that sooner or later the libs run out of other peoples money to give away. IMO, the sooner this happens and the country is officially bankrupt and the dollar worthless the better. We need a new system here....the current one has been burned out with the concept that voters can vote money to themselves or to give to others with of course the usual vig taken off the top by the DC crowd.

Currently we have a huge portion of the young adult population living in their parents basements or living off the dole of their parents, and government, elsewhere astesnicized by the electron morphine of electronic devices.
Meanwhile we are overrun by a horde of border crashers who are eating away at the foundation of the country. In essence the US has become one big theater set, nothing behind the facade and the curtain is getting ready to come down.

You don’t want to face the issue, do you?

Nice consolation thought, except I don’t believe it—running out of money with all the added Latino voters will only the sooner make us South America North.

You don’t want to face the issue, do you?

How so? Do the issues have anything to do with what occurs to allow an Obama a second term in the WH, despite there being no doubt about his agenda and willingness to go extra-constitutional and lawless? Do the issues have anything to do with keeping a Hillary out of the WH? Do they deal with burying a Jeb Bush and some of the other really outre" republicans who haven't even a smidgen of conservatism in them and supporting the most conservative choice(s) we have available w/o destroying them and opening the door for another true RINO and/or a Hillary?

Our track record sucks and our "rationalizations" of how it's more "principled" to cut off both legs when only a toe needs to go tells me that there are others who are more deserving of the comment, "You don’t want to face the issue, do you?"...

The most amazing part of this is Lepage is a great republican governor.... who actually spent several years homeless on the street at age 11 as a result of domestic violence, yet he is a rational crusader against excesses of welfare.

Maybe it is because of that.

This has nothing to do with rationalizing distant principles. Amnesty and chain migration will combine to bring us 60 million new Leftist voters. Getting a president in who on one hand seems conservative, but on the other hand gives away our future voter base will have much more of anything putatively conservative he effects many times over undone by the new voters he’s to blame for.

The idea that a year and a half before the general election bringing up the amnesty elephant in the voter’s booth is a vote for Hillary is offensively idiotic.

So is the concept that not voting against Obama (or Hillary) gives one bitching rights over those who actually vote for them. The reality of Obama having a second term and a Hillary even being considered is so more idiotic and offensive than the considering that it is all justified because the candidates aren't as hard-core "torch them all and save space by sending their ashes back over the border" as some folks seem to think it should be. To be able to discount the 1000 other ways we get damaged by allowing an Obama in makes this single-issue (and not fully accurate) becoming a "valid reason to teach us all another reason seem a bit insane. of course, it has been said that the truly insane don't realize they're insane so the arguments against them fall on deaf ears.

quote: “Federal law prohibits states from providing General Assistance to illegal immigrants. This law was enacted in 1996, when President Clinton and the Republican Congress approved sweeping welfare reforms.”

So why can’t -and why doesn’t - all states do this?

Our Gov also leads the way towards couch potato reform -

Has been a HUGE drop in food stamps: “With certain exceptions, able-bodied adults between 16 and 60 years of age must register for work, accept an offer of suitable work, and take part in an employment and training program to which they are referred by [the Office for Family Independence].”

Other states are now taking a look at this

Also, Gov. lePage blocked the use of EBT cards in casinos, etc
