Spain’s Socialist leader, Pedro Sánchez, has apologized after he accidentally voted for a law requiring girls under 18 to obtain parental consent for abortions.

The law, introduced by the governing People’s Party and long opposed by the Socialists, was promised by the conservative PP last autumn after it abandoned its controversial attempt to reverse the country’s abortion laws. What possible reason could the left come up with to be “offended” by standing up for parental rights?

While many 15-16-17 year olds are quite capable of independant life, they are still legally the wards of their parents. If the parent is responsible for the teen, the parent MUST know everything that the teen is up to.

It comes down to: my house, my rules. Don’t like it, leave.

One of the primary tenets of the left. Therefore, standing up for the rights of parents in a family is anathema.
