The problem with Rubio is not that he made a mistake in his beliefs about immigration. It’s how he told us lies about how the gang of eight were going to implement border security as part of the plan, and then he went on Spanish television in Mexico and said ‘don’t worry, the security thing is B.S., we’ve got you covered, so hang in there, we will keep the border open and get amnesty approved asap!’

I agree, he really screwed up big time with that whole incident, and that one thing took him from front runner to near the bottom of the list of those I could reluctantly see voting for.
But, people make mistakes. (Lord knows I have) and he if fesses up to the GIANT, MASSIVE mistake he made and seems sincere, I am willing to listen to what he has to say with an open mind.
I don’t buy the mantra he made a mistake on immigration. After the fight during the Bush years, you would have to be living under a rock to not understand American frustration with illegal immigration, and border security. His mistake was thinking he had more influence than he actually did. He thought, as did McCain, Graham, and Schumer, that he could pull enough conservatives to get that bill passed. He perpetuated the same myth that was used during the Bush administration until the bill was so badly destroyed he looked silly trying to continue the charade.
How can I believe anything he says? He is just like the Republicans we have been electing for years. He talks conservative, but when it matters, he governs liberal. In my book he is on the same shelf with Christie, and Bush, he won’t get my vote.
Spot on bigtoona, what you wrote is precisely why I don’t trust him. Rubio will say whatever he feels he has too to get the conservative vote and then toss the conservative overboard when the RINO’s and communist come calling.
