David Cameron has claimed the Conservatives are the "party of the working people" as he made pledges on homeownership, £5,000 of free childcare and an income tax-free minimum wage.
Launching the Tory manifesto, Mr Cameron repeatedly made offers to voters who worked hard and wanted to get on the "good life".
The manifesto set out measures for families from cradle to grave - identifying measures to help people over six stages of their lives.

If you’re not “working people”, then what are you?
The Tories are trying to out ‘Father Christmas’ Labour. This will not end well for the Tories. Looks like there is no Conservative alternative for Britain.
This is what passes for “conservative” when you pass the tipping point of dependence upon government.
“A chicken in every pot, a bun in every oven, a car in every garage, and every man a millionaire.” — Adolf Hitler
But Hitler did manage to win an election with that line, didn’t he?
As opposed to the Libertarians who promise, "Pot in every chicken."
Actually, Hitler never won an election.
In the 1930 elections, the NSDAP came in second.
In 1932, seven years after renouncing his Austrian citizenship, Hitler got German citizenship, and thus could personally run for office. He immediately ran against Hindenburg, and lost. After two more parliamentary elections that year, Hindenburg appointed his Chancellor.
On 27 Feb 1933, the majority being blocked from forming a government, the Reichstag was burned, and Hitler demanded the Reichstag Fire Decree from Hindenburg. The elections in March still only gave the NSDAP 43.9% of the vote.
So Hitler forced through the Enabling Act, which gave Hitler and his cabinet legislative power for “four years”.
Thus he became a “legal dictator”.
